Pollen, poems, and community.

What do yoga and my poetry have in common? Lots.

They soothe me mentally, help me to process emotions, figure out what needs attention and what to release: both are music in the dance of my self-expression.

Today is poetry day in Ireland, and there’s a lot to look forward to all day in my local community. I am tired but the sun is blazing over Kerry, so after some yoga and a shower I’ll be buzzing like a honey bee.

As for my chapbook, you can see a little honeybee on the cover. I took his photo one day when he landed on a page of boring text that I was reading, so I took it as a sign to get back to writing poetry! The bee stayed with me for ages that day. Mesmerized by his translucent wings and delicate, powerful presence, I took his photo and added it to the cover design. 🐝

For the day that’s in it, I am happy to give away three copies of ‘The Pollen Pages’ so get in touch if you’d like me to post you one.

Swaps with other poets are welcome too.

As for yoga, text or call me if you’d like to join me for practice outside (Tralee and Listowel). I look forward to teaching at Bealtaine in the sunshine. See you soon.
