Protection (a poem).

PROTECTION (ODE TO THE MORRIGAN)

Dark to light, death to rebirth

You predict who will fall in battle

The Morrigan rising; protector of all

Bless our land and these cattle.

The owl, the wolf, and the eel

Souls of the dead and the living

The power of healing by dawn and by night

Psychic crow shapeshifting.

Hello

Winter has arrived in Ireland, and I am enjoying the fire, more rest, and creativity galore. If you would like an invitation to my next exhibition, or to attend a community art event that I am producing for Spring in Kerry, get in touch on the contact page.

The poem and art here were inspired by The Morrigan, who is a Goddess, aka ‘The Phantom Queen’, in Irish mythology. Read more here.

-Kathryn.
